Hello everyone, I hope you had an amazing extended weekend and a happy Fourth of July.To take advantage of the long weekend my husband and I decided to go on a short roadtrip to Whidbey Island, so I climbed on the back of his motorcycle and we headed off for a weekend adventure.
On early Sunday morning we rode to the Mulkiteo terminal and took the ferry to Clinton, from there we took a beautiful scenic drive through Fort Casey, Oak Harbor, and Deception Pass, all the way up to Anacortes. We had lunch in Coupeville as we made our way back to Whidbey and after a 120 mile ride we finally arrived at our destination.
Comforts of Whidbey is a beautiful family-owned winery and b&b located in Langley. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Rita, who runs this little gem along with her husband Carl. The B&B has a total of six rooms and is located above the winery and tasting room. Our room was spacious, with a private bath, plush robes, and a direct view of the farm and vineyard. This was definitely a treat since we were able to watch the sunset as we enjoyed a glass of wine and a cheese platter (compliments of the house) from the comfort of our room.
I highly recommend wine tasting and then heading out for an evening stroll around the farm to see the animals. They have a few cows, a couple alpacas, a llama, and two dogs, Atlas and Lola. We even got to see a doe with her two fawns just grazing about.
If you get hungry or need to pick up an evening snack, there are a couple of restaurants in Langley or a Ken’s Corner Market located just a mile away. No need to worry about making breakfast accommodations since a delicious breakfast (cooked by Rita herself) is included with your stay.
Our experience overall was great, I was a bit hesitant at first because I had never stayed at a b&b before but I’m so glad I gave it shot because this place exceeded our expectations. The location was beautiful, the wine delicious, and the Comforts were so hospitable and accommodating during our entire visit. I can’t wait to go back soon. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway I highly suggest Comforts of Whidbey B&B, you won’t regret it!
