Beauty Review: Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish 003

I  must admit, I often buy beauty products based on the way they’re packaged. I love how makeup brands market their products and if it’s packaged beautifully, it will suck me right in. For example, I had my eye on Oribe before taking the plunge and buying the Gold Lust line, the gradient black and gold bottles just scream luxury and aromatic fragrance completely seals the deal. So, when I saw Skin Fetish 003 on, I knew I had to get my hands on it!

I’m a huge fan of Pat McGrath, her resume includes a long list of celebrities and A-list clients. Her work has graced many covers of Vogue magazine and numerous cosmetic advertisements. If you’re into makeup, chances are that you’ve come across her work as she is one of the most sought-out makeup artists.

Skin Fetish 003 comes in two beautiful shades, “Nude” and “Golden”. I usually go for warmer tones so I decided to give “Golden” a try. I was quick to click on “Add to Basket” that I was unaware I would be receiving a sequin-filled goody bag!
The gold highlighting kit includes the following:
  • sequins
  • a dual-sided stick that has a gold-tinted highlighter on one end and clear balm on the other
  • a pearlescent pigmented pressed powder
  • a small buffer brush
  • …and more sequins!

The twist up highlighter stick glides on easily to provide a bronze glow to desired areas of your face and/or body. The balm can be used alone or layered on top of the highlighter to create that wet look we often see in beauty editorials. The pigmented powder can also be layered with the other products to further intensify a look or on its own. While the highlighter and pigment are similar in tone, you will find the highlighter gives more of a bronze glow while the pigment gives more of a iridescent yellow sheen.

What I really like about the kit is that it’s versatile and you can go from a natural glow to a walking disco ball depending on your mood or occasion. Hats off to McGrath for an amazing product!

Unfortunately, due to it’s popularity, this item is currently sold out online but you might try your luck at any of the Sephora locations below

  • NYC – Times Square & Union Square
  • LA – Hollywood & Highland
  • Las Vegas – Houston Galleria
  • Miami – Aventura

I’ve posted a video on my Instagram page showing the kit in more detail and for bragging rights… a comment from Pat McGrath herself, super exciting!! 🙂
